Join Pat Goaley for an introduction to Catherine de’Medici embroidery using Italian Buratto linen and Cotone Povero thread and featuring stitches traditional to the 16th and 17th century for this style of needlework. This piece is stitched in hand and all materials are included in the kit. The finished size is 12 inches square.
As a bonus to this program, Pat will give a series of small talks exhibiting various forms of Italian embroidery from her collection.
The class kit will include a 16” x 16” piece of Italian Burrato linen; a full ball of Cotone Provero thread; DMC thread for basting; needles; and printed instructions for basting, hemming and stitching the piece. Kits will be provided to students approximately two months prior to class as some basting pre-work is required.
Students are asked to bring their usual stitching supplies and lighting and magnification as needed.
